Mailroom

We carried out a full mailroom review at the Wiggington Road site, looking at:

• Postal products used
• Volumes of mail delivered and posted
• Methods used
• Staff utilisation
• Equipment used

Recommendations were made for an improved servce to the Trust, this included, changing mailing products to more effiicient cost effective ones, a mailroom re-fit with fit for purpse equipment and a new staffing profile to ensure that the best service that could be provided was provided.

The savings identified gave a return on investment of 6:1

Stores

We carrried out a full review of the stores activities at the Wiggington Road site, looking at:

• Staff utilisation
• Methods used
• Equipment used
• Volumes received and delivered

Recommendations were made to improve the productivity and efficiency of the stores operation.

Combining Stores and Mailroom Scoping

As a result of the two previous studies, a scoping exercise was carried out to look at the feasability of combining the stores and mailroom into one deparment as part of the future Trust improvment activities.
